Will there be puppies?

It's been 4 weeks since Porsche and Porter began mating. They had plenty of opportunity and we're waiting for signs of pregnancy. Should be soon...

First Mating Complete!

Porsche and Porter mated for the first time this afternoon! We are hoping the dogs will mate one or two more times before Porsche's heat is over. Based on research I've done online, if Porsche becomes pregnant from this breeding she will deliver her puppies is approximately 63 days.

Doggie Vacation

Porter has come to visit for two weeks from Sacramento. He and Porsche are getting along well and sporadically do what appears to be a mating dance, where the run around each other in circles while whining and wagging their tails.

Porsche Growing Up

Porsche is wearing the pink collar in the picture with the other pups. This is her at 4 weeks old.

The Parents

Porsche and Porter met on 2/15/2010 at Fort Funston, CA and were matched based on physical characteristics and temperment according to breed standards. The dogs' owners are hoping they will mate during Porsche's next heat, which should occur during the beginning of March, 2010. Porsche is wearing a pink collar and is on the left. Porter is wearing a blue collar and is on the right.
